THE BAR

The bar is originally a bandsaw from C.B. Rogers & Company, and was used as a shipbuilding fixture in the shop for 20 years.

After transforming The Shop into a residence, we kept and restored the relic as a focal point within the space, giving it new life as The Bar.

It has been transformed into a fully stocked bar + cocktail experience, turning a work surface for boatbuilding into a craft space for imbibing.

In transforming a former woodshop into a residential space, we wanted to celebrate its former life in interesting ways.
We wanted to highlight the use and character of the former machine, and bring it back to its former sheen. This uncovered beautiful brass details and the alternating wood pattern.
By transforming the former shipbuilder’s bandsaw into a cocktail bar, we were able to highlight the former life of the machine, as well as give it new purpose.
