The bar is originally a bandsaw from C.B. Rogers & Company, and was used as a shipbuilding fixture in the shop for 20 years. After transforming The Shop into a residence, we kept and restored the relic as a focal point within the space, giving it new life as The Bar.

Designed for a poolside area in Manhattan, this end-table series brings together an uncommon yet playful wood species, and deceptively light deployment of concrete to create a series of surfaces upon which to enjoy cocktails, play games, and appreciate the qualities of the wood.

This table was conceived after stumbling upon wood that had been taken over by carpenter bees. Enthralled by the pathways crafted by the crafty insects, as well as the smell of honey, we were inspired to capture the essence of the wood in its afterlife and preserve the unique moment in time.

Through the use of essential oils, heat and air, a tactile and olfactory experience manifests in Fossa Olfactoria.While scent is oft unexplored or completely omitted from serious discussions of architecture, scent and odor shape experience, occupancy, and comfort in powerful ways.
